Landowners Engage True North Law to Seek Compensation for the Taking Their Property for the Ecusta Trail

One landowner “estimates she was contacted by around three to four different firms focused on this area of law.  After doing extensive research, she decided to go with the True North Law Group….”

Hundreds of landowners in Henderson and Transylvania counties in North Carolina have had their property taken by the federal government to construct the Ecusta Rail-Trail.  The Hendersonville Times-News interviewed a client of True North Law regarding the government’s taking of her property and the construction of the rail-trail.  The article is available here.

“It is essential that landowners choose the most experienced, most capable legal counsel to pursue their claims for compensation,” said True North Law Founding Partner Thor Hearne.

The True North Law client interviewed by the newspaper is a legal secretary who understands the importance of selecting the best counsel.  The article stated, “With years of experience as a legal secretary, Delise says the whole process has been easier for her to understand, and at the same time a lot of information to absorb. … Delise estimates she was contacted by around three to four different firms focused on this area of law.  After doing extensive research, she decided to go with the True North Law Group, a St. Louis-based firm specializing in eminent domain litigation.”

Because the government doesn’t notify landowners that it is taking their property and doesn’t offer to pay landowners any compensation, landowners must affirmatively file a claim against the federal government in order to receive compensation.
